Art Classes

Learn to paint a snow scene:

   1.  Snow with a blue sky, gray sky or sunset sky.
   2.  Stream with snowy banks
   3.  Fields with uneven snow and rocks
   4.  Shadow colors with a blue sky, gray sky or sunset sky
Participants will receive a handout each class to create their own instructional workbook to refer to while they continue their painting journey!

Registration required. Call Latrobe Art Center at 724-537-7011 or click the appropriate button below to reserve your spot(s) in this class! Registered attendees must be paid in full to secure a spot in the class.

Please bring your own supplies. (See below for a list of materials. Students may use oil paints OR acrylic paints in this course.)

Bring your favorite snow photograph or some photos will be available for your use.
Canvas or Canvas Board  size…8 x 10, 11 x 14 
Oil Paint Colors:   
1) Titanium White   (cool)
2) Cadmium Lemon Yellow  or Hansa Yellow Light  (cool yellow)
3) Cadmium Yellow Medium (warm yellow)
4) Cadmium Red Light   (warm red)
5) Quinacridone red or Alizarin Crimson    (cool red)
6) Phthalocyanine Blue  (phthalo blue) or Manganese blue (cool blue)                                                                           
7) Ultramarine Blue    (warm blue)
You will be able to mix all the colors you could ever want with the above tube colors. 
Optional colors:  Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, and Raw Umber         

Acrylic Paint Colors  (names are for Golden Acrylic Paint)  or similar colors
 1) Titanium White
 2) Cadmium Yellow medium (warm)
 3) Benzimidazolone Yellow Light (cool)
 4) Cadmium Red (warm) 
 5) Quinacridone Red (cool)
 6) Ultramarine Blue (warm)
 7) Phthalocyanine Blue-green shade (cool)
Optional colors:  Burnt Sienna, Burnt Umber, and Raw Umber
